PizzaForno, North America’s first fully automated pizzeria, is reshaping Michigan’s dining scene with a 40-unit development deal, its largest expansion yet. The innovative brand, known for its 24/7 accessibility and premium pizzas ready in under five minutes, has already opened five new units across the state, including locations in Clarkston, Caledonia, Flint, and Troy.

Among these, two units at the Amazon Distribution Center in Grand Rapids mark a unique integration of cutting-edge food service technology with high-demand workplaces. Additional locations include a SUNOCO gas station in Clarkston, Oakland Mall in Troy, and Mott College in Flint. This move is part of PizzaForno’s mission to provide convenient, quality dining options in high-traffic and underserved areas.

“This is just the beginning,” said Jason Lowder, PizzaForno’s Master Licensee for Michigan and Chief Marketing Officer. “We’re committed to bringing high-quality, affordable food solutions to areas where traditional options are limited, ensuring that great pizza is always within reach.”

Rapid Expansion Backed by Technology and Vision

The 40-unit development deal was inked with Forno Brothers LLC, a partnership between Jason and Monika Lowder and Dan and Shay Russell. The agreement sets the stage for ten additional units in 2025, with the remaining locations expected by 2026. The brand has ambitious plans to reach 1,000 operational units across North America by 2027.

PizzaForno’s unique vending solution uses a proprietary food tech platform originating in France, where over 2,200 similar units are already operational. Customers can order pizzas via a touchscreen or the PizzaForno app, which also allows them to reserve orders and check inventory in real-time. The company’s menu features a variety of handcrafted pizzas made with premium ingredients, appealing to foodies and busy professionals alike.

Local Leadership Drives Growth in Michigan

The brand’s Michigan expansion is spearheaded by Jason Lowder, a former Vice President at Marco’s Pizza with extensive experience in franchise operations. Lowder emphasized the importance of PizzaForno’s role in Michigan communities, noting that rising food prices and the fast-paced nature of modern life make 24/7 dining solutions more relevant than ever.

“Being part of a brand that revolutionizes the pizza experience is incredibly fulfilling,” Lowder said. “With deep ties to Michigan, I’m thrilled to bring a solution that meets the needs of our local communities.”

Co-founder and President Les Tomlin also highlighted the brand’s vision of accessibility and convenience. “We’re not just entering Michigan; we’re creating a footprint that blends technology and high-quality food to enhance the way people dine, even in the busiest environments.”

The Future of Dining at Amazon and Beyond

The partnership with the Amazon Distribution Center in Grand Rapids reflects PizzaForno’s commitment to serving unconventional, high-traffic locations. The company addresses the unique needs of workers in demanding industries by providing a fast, reliable, and cost-effective dining option.

With plans to expand into more Amazon facilities and college campuses, PizzaForno is poised to tap into markets that prioritize convenience without compromising food quality. The brand operates in multiple U.S. states and has become a leader in automated dining solutions since its founding in 2018.
