Michigan Peppered By Power Outages – 152,000 without service

Saturdays’ high winds across Michigan resulted in power outages across the state. As of 5:00 am Sunday DTE Energy and Consumers Energy reported a combined total of 152,008 customers affected by power outages in Michigan.

Power outage maps provided by DTE Energy and Consumers Energy show outage areas across the state. DTEs status as of Saturday evening indicated that heavy winds have caused outages in Southeast Michigan. The company estimates that 80 – 90% of customers will be restored by late Sunday. By mid-day Sunday, the company plans to provide individual estimates for those who remain without power. DTE reported that 96.18% of its customers have power. They are reporting 85,117 customers affected. DTE has 247 crews in the field to restore services.

Consumers Energy reported that 96.4% of its customers have power. They are reporting 2,024 outage areas affecting 67,015 customers. Consumers have 226 crews dispatched to restore power.
