Experience the Thrilling Caseville 5K: 5 Unforgettable Reasons to Run Around in the Upper Thumb

A few years back, a buddy of mine roped us into a 5K run/walk during the Cheeseburger festival. I’m not much of a runner, to be honest, so I was glad when he mentioned we could just walk. We ended up having a blast, starting from Caseville County Park and covering a fair bit of Caseville. We didn’t keep it up, but this year we have a chance to do it all over again.

Guess what? The Pigeon Sunset Classic 5K Run/Walk is coming up. Sponsored by Scheurer Hospital, this event is happening on July 18th. It kicks off with a kid-friendly 1/4 mile walk/run at 7 pm, followed by the adult 5k walk/run at 8 pm. The award ceremony starts at 9:15 pm. You can register on the same day at the grassy lot next to Scheurer Long-Term Care from 5:30 pm. The registration fee for the Pigeon Sunset Classic 5k is $15 if you register by July 14th, or $20 on the day.

Also, the Cheeseburger in Caseville 5k Fun Run/Walk is back! Scheurer Hospital is hosting this 5k on August 10th during Caseville’s big August festival. The race starts at 9:00 am and the route will take you around much of Caseville, including the break-wall out into Saginaw Bay. Online registration ends on August 4th, 2019 and costs $15. If you register on the day, it’s $20.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to get active, these 5K events are a great opportunity to get out and about in Caseville. The friendly atmosphere and beautiful routes make them a hit with participants and spectators alike. So why not lace up your sneakers and join us? You never know, you might just catch the running bug!
