At the Welcome Center, team captains for the much-anticipated Broomball and Dodgeball Tournaments gather at 5:30 PM for a briefing. Meanwhile, Lake Street Local offers a unique twist on a party game with its Trash Can Yard Pong Tournament starting at 6:30 PM. Using oversized trash cans as cups and soccer balls as pong balls, this larger-than-life version of beer pong is a crowd-pleaser. Later, head to The Landing Tavern for a lively karaoke night starting at 9:00 PM—perfect for those looking to belt out their favorite tunes and soak in the convivial atmosphere.


Saturday Morning: Frosty Markets and Snowy Games

Saturday morning heralds the arrival of the Winter Market, open from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Welcome Center. Visitors can browse stalls featuring local vendors, showcasing everything from handmade crafts to gourmet treats. It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up unique souvenirs or support the local economy.

The Broomball Tournament begins at 11:00 AM on the Broomball Court. Teams, armed with broom-like sticks and boundless enthusiasm, compete for the coveted championship title. For those with artistic flair, the Snowman Contest runs from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at The Village Green. Participants sculpt their icy masterpieces, with the winner announced at 2:00 PM at the Broomball Court.

The afternoon brings some of the most daring and dazzling events. At 12:00 PM, brave souls gather at the Village Docks for the Polar Bear Dip, an exhilarating plunge into icy waters. This tradition, both daring and invigorating, is supported by divers from the Thumb Area Charter Captain Association to ensure safety.

Simultaneously, live chainsaw carving demonstrations kick off at Lakeside Motor Lodge, showcasing artists transforming blocks of ice into intricate sculptures. Families and kids will love the glitter tattoos available at Lake Street Local, and caricature artists at The Landing Tavern promise whimsical mementos of the day.

The Dodgeball Tournament, a new addition this year, starts at 1:00 PM, followed by a dedicated Kids Dodgeball match at 2:00 PM. Both events are held at the Broomball Court, where spectators can cheer on teams in this fast-paced, action-packed game.

If drilling through solid ice sounds like your kind of challenge, the Manual Auger Ice Drilling Competition is your chance to shine. Starting at 2:00 PM, contestants race to create the fastest ice-fishing hole, with winners celebrated on the Broomball Court.
