Starting Jan. 11, Delta will introduce nonstop flights from Detroit to Tulum (TQO), a significant expansion into Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. Tulum, renowned for its pristine beaches, ancient Mayan ruins, and vibrant cultural heritage, becomes Delta’s newest leisure destination for Midwest travelers seeking relaxation and adventure.

The new route provides travelers with access to Dublin’s rich history, picturesque landscapes, and vibrant nightlife, complementing Delta’s existing service from Atlanta, Boston, New York-JFK, and Minneapolis-St. Paul.

To enhance the travel experience, Delta Vacations offers curated hotel options and tour packages, including excursions to the Cliffs of Moher and Belfast’s Titanic Visitors Centre, making it easier for travelers to explore beyond the city limits.

Cutting-Edge Technology Enhances the Detroit Airport Experience

As Delta expands its network, it also continues investing in airport technology to streamline the passenger experience.

Delta Digital ID Eliminates Need for Physical Documents at Checkpoints

Delta expands service using digital ID
Debuted in 2021 at the airline’s Detroit and Atlanta hubs, Delta Digital ID provides customers with a seamless, hands-free way to navigate the airport.

Delta’s Digital ID technology, introduced at DTW in 2021, allows eligible customers to check bags and move through security without showing a physical government ID or boarding pass. This hands-free system enhances efficiency, reduces wait times, and provides a seamless airport experience.
