10 Times Eric Toth of Minden City Outshone: The Unstoppable Force in Racing Dreams

We’re thrilled to share with you a story from our new partnership with the Minden City Herald. This week, Nathan Marks, the editor of the weekly paper, has shared a fantastic feature about local racing enthusiast, Eric Toth. We’re grateful to both Nathan and Eric for allowing us to share this exciting story with you all.

Eric Toth, a native of Minden City, has always had a passion for racing. Growing up, he watched his father, Mike Toth, compete in races across the state. However, after the passing of his sister Heather in 2001, the thrill of racing faded for the Toth family. It wasn’t until last year that Eric felt ready to reignite his dream of racing.

Returning to the racing circuit, Eric initially participated in bump and run races and derbies, much to the dismay of his father who lamented the short lifespan of the cars. Despite a setback when a friend pulled out of a joint venture to try bullet stock racing, Eric persevered, purchasing a 1978 Camaro, the same model his father used to race.

This summer, Eric is making his mark on the Silver Bullet Speedway in Owendale. As of June 12th, he ranks 10th among the bullet stock racers and has finished in the top 10 four times out of six races. He’s determined to participate in as many of the 18 races scheduled this year as possible.

Racing, however, is not a cheap hobby. With rising fuel prices, hefty entry fees, and the cost of maintaining a vehicle, Eric is seeking local sponsors to help offset the expenses. In return, sponsors will have their decals displayed on his car. Currently, Bischer Farms and A to B Auto Salvage are supporting Eric’s racing dreams.

Eric is proud to represent Minden City in his races and remains loyal to local businesses for his racing needs. He also cherishes the family aspect of the sport, hoping to inspire his own children to take an interest in racing as he did watching his father.

Eric’s ambition doesn’t stop at bullet stocks. He hopes to one day move up to the next level of racing, which would involve acquiring a different car and adapting to changes in the chassis, body style, and suspension. Despite the challenges, Eric relishes the thrill of the race and the camaraderie within the racing community.

To catch Eric in action, head to the Silver Bullet Speedway in Owendale where races are held every Saturday. For more information about the races or to learn how to support Eric’s racing pursuits, please refer to the contact details provided.
