10 Shocking Reasons The Chrysler LeBaron GT Dominated Our Last K-car Summer

Our 1990 Chrysler LeBaron GT convertible is turning 23 this year, and it’s been a trusty ride for three generations of our family, even serving as the first car for each of our sons. The LeBaron, a name that was quite popular at Chrysler in the 1990s, is based on the famous K-Car platform, which played a significant role in saving Chrysler from bankruptcy in the early 80s. This car, with its 3.0 liter V6 Mitsubishi engine, has some serious get-up-and-go – our son Evan once had it pegged at 130 mph on I-75! Now, after years of service to Evan, Ethan, and Ian, it seems this might be the last season for this faithful K-car.

Tonight, I spent some time cleaning up the LeBaron and taking a few final photos. We’re thinking about taking it for one last ride up to Caseville later this summer, to give this classic K-car its final curtain call.
