Hey, bird lovers! Come join Joe Rogers and the Wildlife Recovery team at the Huron County Nature Center this Saturday, July 1, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. You’ll get to see hawks, owls, and falcons up close and personal – it’s really something to see. Plus, if you’ve got any questions about these amazing creatures, they’ll be more than happy to answer them.

Let me introduce you to the real bird experts, Joe and Barb Rogers. Barb has spent 28 years working alongside Joe, researching and monitoring all kinds of birds of prey. From studying bald eagle nests to reintroducing peregrine falcons, she’s done it all. And she doesn’t just study these birds, she cares for the injured and orphaned ones that come to their organization each year.

The Wildlife Recovery Association, the team behind this event, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the understanding and protection of wild hawks, owls, eagles, and falcons. They’ve done some amazing work, like reintroducing and monitoring peregrine falcons in Michigan’s wild sites. You can see some of their work in action in this heartwarming video of a rescued adult Bald Eagle being released after rehabilitation.

Everyone’s invited to this event at the Huron County Nature Center. The volunteer staff can’t wait for the return of this popular event. It’s free to attend, but donations are always appreciated. The Nature Center has hiking and biking trails open all year round, so you can make a day of it. You can find out more about them on their website and Facebook page.

So why not step into the world of these remarkable birds of prey and take flight with the wonders of nature in Huron County?

In a nutshell, immerse yourself in the world of majestic raptors at the Huron County Nature Center with the Wildlife Recovery team.
